Non-uniform Day for Ronald McDonald House raises €500.

A huge well done to the students of Arklow CBS who helped to raise €500 for Ronald McDonald house recently by having a non-uniform day. This is a brilliant charity and they are really appreciative of our donation.

TY News

TY Volleyball Tournament

The TY’s had a great day of sport on Thursday the 10th of December for their volleyball tournament in the coral leisure centre. All the proceeds from this charity event are going to the local charity Loaves and Fishes. The TY students would like to thank Coral leisure for hosting them, Emmet Byrne, Neuromuscular Therapy for sponsoring the trophy and Mary Byrne for supplying the trophy.

TY/5th Year LCVP Enterprise Day and Christmas Fair

Our fifth year LCVP class are currently working with TYs to host what we hope will be the first annual Arklow CBS Christmas Fair. This will take place on Wednesday, 16th December. On the day, we will be providing the TY groups, who have been working very hard on their mini companies, with a chance to sell their ideas and products. This will be taking place in the P.E hall from 08:55 to 13:10. We will also be hosting a raffle on the day, with help from businesses around Arklow who have generously donated prizes.

We want to thank Arklow Computer Solutions who have been our biggest sponsor. We would also like to thank our other sponsors: Armstrong’s Pharmacy, Bank of Ireland, Town Heads, Apache Pizza and Frankie Sports.

We realise that this year is a tough time for some and we want to do our bit to help. That is why we will be donating all the money we get from the raffle to Arklow Cancer Support. Many people have been affected by cancer in some way and have lost loved ones. With Christmas around the corner we want to help these families as much as we can, so with many thanks to our sponsors, we can make that happen.

This year’s TY group have been working very hard on their mini companies some examples include: Simple Soap Goods, Only Fools and Horseshoes, Captain Candles and many more! This is the day where they can sell these ideas and see what’s it’s like to run a business and compete in the marketplace.

Thank you to Mr Fanning, Ms Dunne and Ms Garvey for their help and support organising this day.

Unfortunately, due to current Covid 19 regulations this event is not open to the public. However, should you wish to purchase any of the many fabulous items on offer, please do not hesitate to contact the mini companies via their Facebook or Instagram pages.

Positively Delicious Recipes

Well done to Jamie Tobin in TY, on the publication of his cookbook Positively Delicious Recipes. The book promotes healthy meals, healthy minds and happy families.

There are over 35 recipes and all proceeds will be presented to Pieta. The book costs €10 and would make a lovely Christmas present and you would be supporting a most worthy cause. To order a copy of the cookbook, you can contact Jamie on Facebook @ Positively Delicious Recipes.
