“In the name of God, what do the likes of us know about love?”
With Valentine’s Day fast approaching our 5th Year English students learned about forbidden love and match making as they enjoyed The Gaiety Theatre’s production of John B. Keane’s classic masterpiece Sive. Many thanks to the English Department for organising this thoroughly enjoyable trip.

TY trip to the Four Courts

Ty at 4 Courts Feb 24.png

Last week saw our TY students head to Dublin for a tour of the Four Courts. It was an extremely interesting tour where the students were given a tour of the buildings followed by a hugely insightful talk by a practising barrister. Thank you to Ms.Garvey and Ms. Carey for accompanying the students.

Get Going Get Rowing Relay

Rowing 2.png

After participating in the Get Going Get Rowing program from Rowing Ireland before Christmas an indoor rowing relay was organised in the leisure centre. We had 3 teams participate in the junior boys category and all the teams got through their semi finals and improved their scores in the finals to win first second and third place. This was a fun way to round off the program and get into the competitive spirit with huge team work and endurance required by the teams to complete their races.

In first place representing 2A was the team of Lucas Reid, Conal Devereux, Patrick Doyle, Sam McDowell and Ross Landy with a time of 7:11.7 seconds over 2000m

In second place representing 2B was the team of Richie Boerescu, Mishone Shajith, Max Dore, James Dunne and Biggy Luke Letlhake with a time of 7:26.3 seconds over 2000m

In third place representing 2C was the team of Cian Tunney, Callum Nicholson, Daniel O'Loughlin, Piotr Knoieczny and Callum Hobbs with a time of 7:52.6 seconds over 2000m

Well done to all the boys who participated in the program before Christmas and well done to those who went on to represent their classes and school.
