Academic Excellence Awards! 👏🏻
Academic awards serve as recognition of students' exceptional achievements in various fields of study. They celebrate diligence, intellect, and commitment, inspiring both recipients and their peers to strive for excellence. These accolades not only honour individual accomplishments but also foster a culture of academic aspiration within Arklow CBS. Certificates and lunch vouchers were recently awarded to the following students who received the top academic results in their Christmas Exams.

TY News
Our Transition Year students ebbed and flowed down the River Barrow this week with Go With The Flow River Adventures, Kilkenny. Thank you to Ms Merrigan, Mr Byrne and Ms Byrne for accompanying students on this cracking day of kayaking.
TY Carlingford trip
Our Transition Year students headed off for two great days of action packed
fun and games in Carlingford this recently. The students got an opportunity to try out all sorts of outdoor activities including canoeing, kayaking, stand up paddle boarding, raft building, orienteering and rock climbing and laser combat to name but a few.
Many thanks to Ms. Byrne for organising and to Mr. Cosgrove and Mr. Kinsella for coming along and taking part in activities!
TY Chinese meal
As part of their Transition Year Chinese studies, our TY’s were treated to a fantastic meal in our local Chinese restaurant “Asian Harvest”. Our students who are doing Chinese studies with Mr. O’Gorman as one of their TY modules were treated to a delicious buffet Chinese meal and a great afternoon was had by all. Thank you to Mr. O’Gorman for organising and a special word of thanks to Aggie and all the staff at Asian Harvest for their hospitality.
TY Exhibition Evening
Our Transition Year showcased their talents and achievements at an exhilarating exhibition evening this week. The event, held in the school's sports hall, featured a diverse range of projects and work. Parents, teachers, and fellow students marvelled at the students' creativity and dedication displayed throughout the year. The displays allowed visitors to engage with the students' work, fostering a sense of community and pride within the school. A huge well done to all involved.
Golf news by Ross Doyle Roche
Some of our students recently participated in an inter-schools golf competition. Well done to each and every one of you who represented the school so well on the day Ross Doyle Roche, Liam Flusk, Oran O’Sullivan, Jake Hughes Rellis, Seán Byrne, Evan Whelan, Riain Dunning, Kyal Byrne, Ross Farrell and Shane Monaghan.
It was a great day even though the weather wasn’t too pleasant, everybody enjoyed the day. Hopefully, the next time, we will have a winner.
It is also a great to see all our beginner golfers getting out there and getting all the practice they need.

The weather held out and there was some great tennis played on the day. This was the first school’s tennis competition for Arklow CBS. Looking forward to many more tennis competitions in the near future. Thank you to Ms. Carey for accompanying the students.

Leaving Cert Construction Practical Exams
