Soccer News

Well done to second year student Darragh Kinch on lining out with Ireland last week playing a friendly in an assessment game. Darragh put in a great performance as usual and scored two goals! Our first year, under fifteen and senior soccer teams are all back out in action in the coming week.

Hurling News
On Monday our Junior hurlers continued to cement their names in Arklow CBS history as they travelled to Portlaoise for the Leinster junior hurling quarter final against Colaiste Dunamasc. This was a one-sided game from the throw in as our boys meant business. No player stood out from the pack as each, and every hurler put 100% into the game and this showed with the final score being 7-18 to 0-8 points. These lads are a credit to the game of hurling. Onwards to the Leinster semi-final we go!

It was aa very successful day with sixth year student Marcus Egan Wolff finishing in first place, sixth year Steven O’Toole in second place and third year student Aaron Reddin in third place.

Christmas Shoebox Collection

Reminder that the deadline for our Christmas show box appeal is this Monday 14th November. First and second year students are organising this year’s Christmas Shoebox Appeal. This is an annual campaign that delivers gifts straight into the hands of children affected by poverty across Africa and Eastern Europe. Often these shoeboxes are the only gift that they will receive at Christmas. Please support if you can!

2A Life Skills Clothing Collection

Thursday was a proud evening for the Mr. Fanning and his 2A Life Skills class as they loaded up the twenty-six boxes of clothes they collected for the Light House Charity in Dublin. Special thank you to East Coast Roosters who came to the school to collect the boxes of clothes collected by our 2A life skills class.
The lads collected 26 boxes of clothes to help the Light House charity in Dublin, who assist the homeless. Thank you again to all who donated.
