5th Year Belfast trip

This week saw our 5th Years accompanied by Mr. Cosgrove and Ms.E Kinsella head off for the annual 5th Year tour of northern Ireland. From Belfast’s fair city to the Giants Causeway, this was an action packed 2 days of culture & historical learning. The students had a fantastic time from start to finish. Thanks to Mr. Cosgrove and Ms. Kinsella for organising.

Arklow CBS Gaelic football team into Senior A Shield final

There was more success for our Gaelic football teams again this week. Arklow CBS proved too strong for Avondale in the Wicklow Senior A Shield match.

The Arklow lads gave a great display of football as each player put in a solid shift. Jack Mullen and Aaron O’Brien pulled the strings in midfield. Top scorer Conn Kinsella was lethal as ever in front of goal.

Kyle Kelly gave a five-star performance, at times resembling Lee Keegan in his desire to win the breaking ball. The strength and depth of the squad was on show as Killian Brehony came off the bench to score 1:01.

Bobby Desmond made his first appearance of the season having had his season interrupted through injury and study commitments. He lived up to the hype by bagging a brace of goals.

Páidí Kavanagh proved his class with a mesmerising performance that left the packed Pearse Park calling for more.

Looking forward to the Shield Final against CCM. Scoil na mBraithre Críostaí abú!

TY Sailing trip

Eight of our Transition Year students set sail this week on an opportunity of a lifetime on the Discovery Ocean Voyage Trip.

The boys are sailing on the ship “Pelican of London” from Dublin to the Isle of Man and Wales. The voyage allows the students to take part in marine science while learning to sail a tall ship.

Please follow Adam O’Leary on Arklow CBS Facebook page and on our Instagram for his daily log.

Adam is keeping us on up to date on the daily routine and activities.

Best of luck to the students taking part on this unforgettable trip.

A huge well done to three of our students, Ruairí O’Neill, Bob Kelly and Scott Hannon who represented Arklow CBS last week at the enterprise awards that were held in Croke Park.
