Soccer News

Hard luck to our u15 soccer team on coming out on the wrong side of a crazy, end-to-end, goal-filled game on Wednesday against Wexford CBS. The game got off to a good start with a Kyal Byrne goal on the 9th minute. The game was neck and neck for the remainder with Arklow CBS going in front on four occasions and Wexford CBS scoring an equaliser each time. Their final equaliser came with just seconds left in normal time leaving the game a 4-4 draw. Unfortunately extra- time did not go as well for us with Wexford getting off to a quick lead and the game ending 7-5 in their favour. Best of luck to them as they advance to the Leinster quarter final.
Goal scorers on the day were: Kyal Byrne (2), Mark Gleeson , Evan Whelan ,Darragh Kinch

Similarly, the first year soccer team played Wexford CBS on Tuesday as part of Wicklow/ Wexford league. We went 1-0 up just a few minutes into the match with Odhrán Cullen getting a superb goal. Sadly, Wexford shortly equalised with a great goal. Aaron Parle Kinsella scored an outstanding goal 10 minutes into the second half. Unfortunately, Wexford scored another goal with minutes to go, making it 2-2 and with a few seconds left of game time, Wexford scored a penalty, and then the final whistle blew.
Although this wasn’t the outcome we had hoped for, or what the lads deserved, we couldn’t be prouder of them as they played an unbelievable game.
