Emmanuel Concert

A huge well done to all our talented music students who performed and represented the school so well at the Emmanuel 2024 concert in the Helix Theatre, Dublin this week. This has become an annual event for our music students, and it is always a thoroughly enjoyable day.

It was a fantastic experience for our students and we are all very proud of them.

Many thanks to Ms. Lee for all the time and preparation that she has put in with the students in preparing them for such a successful performance. Thank you also to Majella for accompanying Ms. Lee.

The CBS Leinster Junior team secured a spot into the next round with a solid 4-16 to 2-14 victory over Callan, Kilkenny this week. Well done to all involved and looking forward to our next encounter.

Basketball news

1st Year students played against Mean Scoil Gharmain from Enniscorthy in Coral Leisure Centre this week in the South East Plate. Despite not coming away with a victory it was one of the best performances from the team this year. They went behind in the first quarter due to some haphazard defending and lack of movement on offence, but as the game progressed they fixed these issues and staged a comeback. Unfortunately, they were unable to prevail against a very solid Enniscorthy side, going down 20 points to 10. A bright sport was the performance of Liam Flusk on his debut for the school team and the scoring of Jack Byrne who came away as the MVP on the day. Team on the day was Sam Seabrooke Cummins, Cathal Hudson, Chris Zheng, Liam Flusk, Zike Phiri, Sean Dobson, Rinith Palawar, Dylan Forde, Eoin Byrne, Jack Byrne and Aaron Kennedy.

12 of our TY students took part in a two-day workshop to create a film for the Rubbish Film Festival. Schools from all over the country will compete for the prize. Our film looked at the difference one person can make to help with our climate crisis. Best of luck and well done to all involved.
