Arklow CBS News for week ending 29.04.22
Some of our 3rd, TY and 5th Year students travelled to Germany with Mr.Somers and Ms.Ryan over the easter break to take part in an exchange with St.Ursula Schule in Würzburg, Bavaria. Our students stayed with host families for the week where they got an opportunity to experience the Bavarian culture and practice their German language skills. We swapped the Irish rain for some snow on arrival and St.Ursula Schule had plenty of activities lined up to keep the boys busy. From city tours conducted by their exchange partners and day trips to other German cities, sampling traditional German food and attending local festivals the boys had a ball. Arklow CBS look forward to welcoming the students from St.Ursula Schule to Arklow next year.
Wicklow-Wexford League final
Hard luck to our 1st Year team on losing the Wicklow -Wexford league final on a 5-4 score line to Wexford CBS. This was a thrilling game of football and the teams could only be separated with a penalty shoot-out following extra time. Each and every player gave their very best and left their hearts on the pitch. Arklow CBS would like to take this opportunity to thank our coach Ms. Cummins and the 1st Year team for their fantastic achievement in getting to the final and for giving us yet another reason to be so proud of our fantastic students. We would also like to congratulate Wexford CBS on their victory.
