Arkow CBS had two games this week with mixed fortunes. Against Gaelcholaiste na Mara, CBS came out on top with a 25 to 21 win. Arturo Amaros who scored 10 was narrowly beaten for mvp by Tadhg Powell who dominated play and scored an impressive 11 points. It was a great performance from CBS even though they had a lot of defending to do. Conor Gahan impressed with his defensive play on his return to the team.
Unfortunately it was a loss today for the boys as they went down 37 26 against Gorey Community School, whose team has reached the finals in this division for the last 2 years. Again Arturo was the main scoring threat for the team scoring 19 points for the CBS. Owen Byrne was unlucky not to get his name on the score sheet more often as his attacking play deserved more than 3 points. Onthe day the boys from Arklow were beaten by a better team who had a bit more accuracy under the net. That being said Arklow had a much better defender than the true score suggests with Conor Gahan and Conn Kinsella putting in good performances. The team will regroup ahead of their final two league games and push to quantify from the group.
Many thanks to Ms. Merrigan for training the squad and for accompanying them to matches!
Our seniors were playing on Wednesday 2nd against Colaiste Chraobh Abhann. The very strong Kilcoole raced into a 6 point lead, before Jack O Reilly and Joe McGeary put scores on the board. The lead was further reduced when Joe McGeary put the ball in the back of the net. CBS went in at half time only 5 points down. Scores were traded at the start of the second half before Jack O Reilly found the back of the net to narrow the gap to 2 points.
PJ O Connor came on at the start of the second half and looked lively as he linked up well with the little pocket rocket Oran ‘wawwaw’ Walker.
However the Kilcoole team pushed ahead and even a fine solo goal from Dylan ‘the mountain’ Murray wasn’t enough to stop CCA running out as eventual winners. CBS will now face Woodbrook College of Bray in their next outing. Well done lads and many thanks to Mr. Cosgrove for training the squad and accompanying them to matches.
Cross Country Running

Well done to all the athletes who took part today at the Wicklow Invitational Athletics Cross Country Relays. Heavy rains didn't stop a fantastic start with Jack Mullen, Eoghan Ward and Ryan Scanlon coming in first place to win the First Year Relays. The Arklow CBS athletes continued a fantastic effort In wind and wet weather with Jamie Wolohan, Jun Jie Huang and Adam Collier placing third for the Second Year Relays. A great effort and well done to all athletes. Many thanks to Mr. O' Gorman for training the lads and for accompanying them to the event.

Wishing AGB Senior Gaelic team the very best of luck as they take on Blessington in the replay of the semi final of the Senior County Championship.
