TY Trip to Lycee Jean Felix Paulsen
Monday 10th February 2020, Mr. Somers and eight TY students travelled to France, landing in Charles de Gaulle Airport, early Monday morning.
From the Airport, we traveled into Paris and got a bird eye view of the city on board Beateaux Mouches, travelling up and down the Seine river.
Later in the day, we traveled on to Lycée Professionnel Jean Félix Paulsen in Châteaudun.
Our group of TY students were divided into two groups and each group then joined the French counterpart and attended classes from Tuesday until Friday. As Jean Félix Paulsen is a vocational school, the students study a vocational programme and luckily our students got to sample a number of different vocational areas as follow: Sports, Electricity, Engineering and Maintenance, Retail Business, Marketing, Administration and English.
Wednesday afternoon, we had a guide tour of Châteaudun and later that evening we were invited to a reception in the town hall hosted by the Lord Mayor and the Chateaudun – Arklow twinning group.
On Friday morning, we traveled back to Charles de Gaulle airport, stopping off for some shopping in the massive Aeroville shopping Mall. Arriving back in Arklow at 19:30.
