Arklow CBS Rugby

The new rugby team have to date been unlucky in their two matches as part of the Schools League drawing defeat in their first match against Colaiste Bride Carnew and also in their second match against East Glendalough Wicklow.  The Arklow CBS team is a strong side and is sure to go from strength to strength as the boys train more and get used to playing on a team with each other.  They are currently training regularly and it is only a matter of time before their hard work and dedication pays off.

 

Wicklow Schools Gaelic

Conor Hughes and Tiernan Mellon from First Year represented Arklow CBS on the under 14 Wicklow Schools team that played Gorey Community School recently.  Unfortunately Gorey emerged the winners but the lads played very well.

 

Arklow Music Festival

Arklow CBS students continue with their winning formula at the Arklow Music Festival as Kane Molloy from third year won first place in the Yeats Poetry Recital.

 

Transition Year Song School

Last week saw our Transition Year students participate in a two day song school.  The boys had a thoroughly enjoyable two days and found out about the very many aspects of writing and recording musics.  The two day workshop culminated in them dividing into groups and writing and recording their own songs.  These will shortly be available to the TY students on a CD and will be played to parents at the Transition Year end of year awards.

 

Arklow CBS Upcoming Jubilee

Transition Year Law

Transition Year students recently sat a law exam as part of their Public Access to Law course which took place recently and was fully sponsored by local solicitor Mrs. Aine Hogan.  The exam was tough but students managed to complete it.  The results will be available to the students shortly and the best result from the school will receive a law related prize from the P.A.L. organisation.  We would like to say thanks again to Mrs. Hogan for sponsoring this course.  It was greatly appreciated by the students.
