Arklow CBS School News – Week ended 19 April 2013

TY Trip

Our TY students went on a trip to the Aviva Stadium to follow up on a research project which they had conducted in English class with their teacher Ms. Rooney.  They also visited Croke Park where they went to the enterprise awards as part of their Business studies with Ms. Garvey.  The boys had a thoroughly enjoyable day.

Music Practicals

This week saw our Junior and Leaving Cert Musicians put through their paces as they completed the practical element of their music exam.  All students were very happy with their performances and thanks to Mr. O’ Neill for all his preparation with them.

Irish Orals

Our Senior students recently finished their Irish Orals.  The orals are an extremely stressful time in a students school life but our students were extremely well prepared by their Irish teachers and were very happy with the way the oral exam went.

Raffle in Aid of the Deaf Society of Ireland

Our Ty students in conjunction with their teacher Ms. Mary Kinsella are currently organising a raffle to try raise funds for the Deaf Society of Ireland.   Parents can purchase tickets by contacting the school office or through their sons.  Some amazing prizes are on offer such as €100 voucher for Skirmish Paintball, 4 Leinster rugby tickets, Voucher for Venture alley Ice Skating, Months membership of Coral Gym and much much more.

Drama Workshop

Many thanks to our past student Jonny Holden who so generously volunteered to conduct a drama workshop with one of our second year groups and with our Transition Year students.  All students had a fantastic time and wished the workshop could have been much longer!
