Outdoor Pursuits
First year, Second year and Fifth year students enjoyed a day's outing to Baltinglass Outdoor Education Centre with their P.E. teachers on 30th April. Students had a taste of rock climbing, abseiling, canoeing, archery and orienteering on the day.
Song Writing Workshop
On May 1st any students interested in music and song writing attended a song workshop given by Beth Nielson Chapman from Nashville, USA, who was touring in Ireland. Students enjoyed it thoroughly and found it both informative and helpful.
Learn to Earn
TY students are currently doing a course as part of Young Innovators in association with Bank of Ireland covering many aspects of basic banking skills eg. how to manage their money, how to buy safely on line etc.
Irish Junior Maths Competition
First year student, Jonathan Nolan has won a place in the final of the Irish Junior Maths Competition on May 9th at St. Peter's College, Wexford. We wish Jonathan the best of luck in this event!
TY French table quiz
On Tuesday, 6th May, our TY students enjoyed a table quiz in French with St. Mary's College students, held in our sports hall. All students enjoyed the event.
Senior Arklow Schools Hurling Team
Our students, Cormac O'Shea, Darragh and Tiernen McBride, Tom and Jack Jameson, Cian Doyle, Robbie Kelly, Fiacha Mc Crudden and Tiernen Mellon all played on the Arklow Schools Team, managed by Mr. Murphy in Bray against Bray schools and won with a final score of 1-11 to 1-8. The Arklow team now move on to the final.
Exams
TY had their final assessment week starting Tuesday 6th May. Leaving Cert construction practical was held on 6th May, LCVP exam on 7th May and Junior and Leaving Cert art exams during the same week.
Basketball
Second year student John Winters has qualified to go forward to the South Leinster Team Trials in Waterford. We wish John the best of luck in the trials!
CPSI Soccer
Cathal Condren, second year played in the Ireland soccer team in a friendly match against Northern Ireland in Belfast on 13th April. Unfortunately the team lost 3-0 but all enjoyed the experience!
