Cross Country Running
This Friday saw the first athletics event of the season take place in Arklow Community College. As usual Arklow CBS fielded some strong competition and returned home with third place medals for the first year relay and also first place medals for the senior relay! The first year team comprised of Jamie Clarke, Stewart Mills, Ross Hanley and Cormac O' Shea, while the senior team was Raymond Going, Cormac Breslin, Jamie Cullen and Sean Hurley. Well ....

Junior Certificate 2011
This year, the parents' Council decided to put together an eventful and fun day of activities for all students awaiting results, so the students were taken by bus to Bray where they went paintballing for the morning. Our 6th Years are holding their Debs tomorrow night, Saturday 10 Sept 2011 in the Arklow Bay Hotel. Transition Years students went on the first class outing, a hill walk in Glendalough with Mr. Sheehy.
The Parents' Council is sponsoring the Paintballing for all the students receiving their Junior Certificate results on Wednesday 14th september 2011. Sept 2011 New Term
Extra Curricular activities for all first years will begin on Monday 5th of September 2011. The activities are as follows:
1A - Gaelic Football - Pearse Park
1B - Basketball
1C - Rugby.
The annual Debs ball will will be held on Staurday 10th September 2011 in the Arklow Bay Hotel.
All classes will be following their full timetable from Wednesday 31 August 2011.

Sports DayThis Thursday 19 May saw our annual sports day take place! We were very lucky in that the weather was perfect and all students had a thoroughly enjoyable if not exhausting day! Graduation EveningNext Wednesday 25th at 7.30 the annual sixth year graduation mass will take place in the school. This mass will be followed by a reception in the school sports hall. Past Student Football SuccessSheffield United Youths team have qualified for the finals of the Prestigious F.A. Youth Cup. Aaron Barry a past student of Arklow CBS, who signed for Sheffield United F.C. last summer has been an important member of the team who have made history by being the first Youth team ever from the club to get to the final of this competition. 1st Gaelic FootballThe Ist year Gaelic Team Played Colaise Bhrid on Monday afternoon in Pearse Park. The successful run came to end losing out to a strong Carnew side. The Carnew boys controlled the game for the first half and when well ahead. However the CBS boys fought back well in the second half but unfortunately could not match their first half scoring and were unlucky being denied by the crossbar and the goal post. Arklow CBS Rugby
The new rugby team have to date been unlucky in their two matches as part of the Schools League drawing defeat in their first match against Colaiste Bride Carnew and also in their second match against East Glendalough Wicklow.
