Sept 2011 New Term
Extra Curricular activities for all first years will begin on Monday 5th of September 2011. The activities are as follows:
1A - Gaelic Football - Pearse Park
1B - Basketball
1C - Rugby.
The annual Debs ball will will be held on Staurday 10th September 2011 in the Arklow Bay Hotel.
All classes will be following their full timetable from Wednesday 31 August 2011.

Sports DayThis Thursday 19 May saw our annual sports day take place! We were very lucky in that the weather was perfect and all students had a thoroughly enjoyable if not exhausting day! Graduation EveningNext Wednesday 25th at 7.30 the annual sixth year graduation mass will take place in the school. This mass will be followed by a reception in the school sports hall. First year parent's Induction EveningTuesday 10th May saw the parents of our incoming first years attend an information evening in Arklow CBS. Past Student Football SuccessSheffield United Youths team have qualified for the finals of the Prestigious F.A. Youth Cup. Aaron Barry a past student of Arklow CBS, who signed for Sheffield United F.C. last summer has been an important member of the team who have made history by being the first Youth team ever from the club to get to the final of this competition. Transition Year Work ExperienceThis week saw our Transition Years on their final week of work experience for the school year. 1st Gaelic FootballThe Ist year Gaelic Team Played Colaise Bhrid on Monday afternoon in Pearse Park. The successful run came to end losing out to a strong Carnew side. The Carnew boys controlled the game for the first half and when well ahead. However the CBS boys fought back well in the second half but unfortunately could not match their first half scoring and were unlucky being denied by the crossbar and the goal post. Arklow CBS Rugby
The new rugby team have to date been unlucky in their two matches as part of the Schools League drawing defeat in their first match against Colaiste Bride Carnew and also in their second match against East Glendalough Wicklow. Congratulations to Arklow CBS student Darragh Gileece who received first prize in the Under 16 Confined Piano Competition. Darragh received the South East Stationery Cup, Gold Medal and Cash Award.
Arklow CBS students also enjoyed great success for their poetry at the Arklow Music Festival. In the Under 16 Competition, Keilin Walker was awarded first prize for his poem The Great Run, Patrick Salley and Wojtek Smyk shared the honour of second prize for their respective poems Hope ....

Delighted Arklow CBS transition year students celebrated their success at the Arklow Music Festival. Derek Allen, Jamie Donohue, Aaron Dunne, Liam Lynch, Cian Malone and Peter Novak were winners of The Gerard Hudson Cup for Post Primary School Drama at the Arklow Music Festival. Their powerful performance of the play Waiting Room, written by their drama teacher especially for the festival, gained each cast member a Commendation.
