Arklow CBS is an all-boys Catholics School. We are proud to be an Edmund Rice School. Edmund Rice Schools are dynamic, diverse and thriving network of 96 secondary and primary Catholic schools across Ireland, inspiring and guiding approximately 40,000 children and young people every day. We are defined and shaped by our unique Charter which set out the values of Quality teaching and Learning, Care, Leadership and Faith at the heart of Edmund Rice Education.
We encourage all our students to participate in as many activities as possible and we have introduced timetabled sport module for all first year students to encourage their participation in team sports. We also offer ample opportunities for our students to take on Responsibility and Leadership roles within our school community.
Academically, we set high expectations and offer a broad curriculum to meet the needs of every student. We operate a student centred mixed ability class setup, where all students are offered the same curriculum in first year and second student choose their optional subjects and levels. Our target is to have in excess of 70% of our Leaving Certificate students going on to Third Level Colleges and to encourage this we have a number of third level scholarships available to our students. Our students can also avail of a number of Access schemes available in most third level institutions.
As a school, we endeavour to produce well rounded mature young men, prepared for the world they find themselves in. As a Catholic School we endeavour to enable our students to contribute and take an active role in society.
